World Learning Macedonia
Based in Skopje, the World Learning field office in Macedonia (WLMK) has been supporting the efforts of the USAID Mission there since 1998. From 1998 to 2005, WLMK managed the Participant Training Program, which aimed to improve the performance of individuals or groups at local partner institutions working closely with all USAID technical assistance projects. Then, and since 2006, WLMK has been managing the Human & Institutional Development Program (HIDP), which has a dual focus: a) to improve the performance of institutions key to both Macedonia and USAID strategy; and b) to improve the performance of individuals or groups – as a continuation of PTP. As such, the structure of the WLMK organization is aligned with its dual focus. It is headed by a Chief of Party and has a staff of 11.
